2019 Acura RDX Earns Top Rating From the IIHS

By Justin Cupler | January 9th, 2019

Acura sent the all-new 2019 RDX to our showroom here at Acura of Rochester serving the Fairport and Pittsford areas in June 2018. But at the time it arrived, the jury was still out on its safety ratings. Today everything gets confirmed, as the IIHS has announced the 2019 RDX earned its highest honor as a Top Safety Pick+*.

To earn this honor, the 2019 Acura RDX had to earn Good” ratings in all crash tests, an “Advanced” or “Superior” rating in forward-collision avoidance, and a “Good” headlight rating. The RDX satisfied the crash tests thanks to its rigid construction while its standard Collision Mitigation Braking System earned a “Superior” rating and the standard Jewel Eye LED headlights earned a “Good” rating.

The 2019 Acura RDX boasts an all-new look and a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that cranks out 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. This power routes through a 10-speed automatic transmission that delivers it to the front wheels. Buyers can also get all-wheel drive that delivers up to 70 percent of the torque to the rear and 100 percent of the power to the left or right wheel.

Keep you and your family safe while travelling around the Rochester or Fairport area in the 2019 Acura RDX. Swing by Acura of Rochester today for a test drive or check out our online inventory to see if we have a 2019 RDX in stock that suits your needs.
