Acura TLX Vs. Lexus ES 350

Luxury sedans today must tick many boxes, including style, performance, and tech. The 2020 Acura TLX and 2019 Lexus ES 350 offer our Rochester area car shoppers all that and more. Which of these luxury sedans is best for you? Continue reading to find out.

The Acura TLX went through a big redesign in 2015 and has seen a handful of updates to keep things fresh. One of these updates was a new diamond pentagon grille in the place of the old Acura beak. The 2020 TLX’s smaller footprint makes for a sportier look, and the A-Spec model enhances this look with sharp wheels, exclusive bumpers, and updated side sills.

The 2019 Lexus ES 350 is a legit luxury sedan with far less sportiness than the TLX. Add to that its longer footprint and coupe-like rear glass, and this is one premium-looking sedan. Moving up the trim levels brings in big wheels and more to dress it up further. Want a little sportiness? The F Sport trim adds that with an exclusive grille, wheels, and more, but it never reaches the sportiness of the 2020 TLX.

The Acura TLX is significantly smaller than the ES 350 in all but height, making it easier to zip in and out of traffic in it.

Inside, the 2020 Acura TLX boasts a nice combination of sportiness and luxury with its thick three-spoke steering wheel, satin-chrome accents, vertical center air vents, and two LCD screens. Want to up the sportiness? The A-Spec model brings in unique seats with grippy inserts, contrast piping and stitching, and much more.

The 2019 Lexus ES takes on a more luxurious look with its wide display screen atop the dash, more horizontal lines on the dash, large center console, and chunky center section of the steering wheel. Now, that’s not to say the ES lacks any sportiness, as its F Sport model brings in bolstered seats and a red-and-black theme that sports it up.

In roominess, the 2020 Acura TLX has more room in its front seats, but the ES boasts an extra 4.7 inches of rear legroom and 2.4 cubic feet of trunk space.
