As a throwback to the brand’s racing heritage, Acura is upgrading their luxury sports sedan, the TLX, to have a more aggressive styling and more impressive wheels. The new trim level is called GT and it revs up the exterior to echo their “rich legacy in sports car racing,” says Acura – and likely to celebrate recently finishing first at the Pirelli World Challenge in a TLX GT car. The Acura TLX GT blends power, performance, and refinement in an interesting yet unmistakable vehicle.
The engine starts with a 2.4-liter, 206-horsepower i-VTEC inline-4 with an 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (8DCT). There’s also a torque converter, as well as Precision All-Wheel Steering (P-AWS) to keep you on track at all times. And the engine can be pumped up to a whopping 290 horsepower with a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 with a 9-speed automatic transmission and Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). You’ll be driving on the edge of your seat, looking for the exit to the race track.
Improvements are just under the hood for this car, you can also add stylish 19-inch Diamond Cut Wheel Kit that not only dresses up the vehicle but gives you better connectivity with the road. You’ll also find a rear decklid spoiler, a front spoiler, side sill garnishes and rear underbody spoiler. You’ll definitely look the part even if you don’t do any racing.
Acura is proud of its legacy at the track and so the package will be available to dealers nationwide as early as the end of 2016.
